Information we collect

Depending on how you use Select My Look, we may collect:

• Your name and email address.
• A profile image supplied by Google or another sign-in provider.
• Saved favourites and saved Looks.
• Style Profile preferences, such as sizes, colours and favourite Style Edits.
• AI Shopper interactions, where applicable.
• Basic usage and click analytics.
• Device and browser information needed for site functionality and security.

You can browse and follow retailer links without signing in. Saving or syncing information to an account is optional.

How we use information

We may use this information to:

• Provide account and sign-in functionality.
• Save favourites and Looks.
• Personalise recommendations.
• Improve the shopping and styling experience.
• Maintain security.
• Understand site usage.

Google sign-in

If you sign in with Google, Select My Look may receive basic profile information such as your name, email address and profile picture, subject to the permissions you grant. We use this information to identify your account and display your profile. We do not request access to your Gmail messages, Google Drive files or other Google content.

Affiliate links

Select My Look contains affiliate links to third-party retailers. When you follow an affiliate link and complete a qualifying purchase, Select My Look may earn a commission at no additional cost to you.

Retailers operate independently. Their own privacy policies and terms apply once you leave Select My Look.

AI Shopper

If you use the AI Shopper, your prompts and relevant conversation context may be processed by our AI service provider to provide styling recommendations. Avoid including sensitive personal information in your requests. You may choose to save AI Shopper history to your account where that option is available.

Recommendations use only products in the SML catalogue. They are suggestions and are not guaranteed purchasing, pricing or availability advice. Confirm final details with the retailer before buying.

See It On You

This optional signed-in feature processes your uploaded photo, selected catalogue garments and background choice with our AI service provider to create a styling preview. We record your consent, generation status and allowance usage. Upload only your own photo or a photo you have permission to use.

Photos and previews are private to your account, are not displayed in public galleries and are not shared publicly without your permission. Owner Studio shows access settings and generation activity without displaying private photos. We retain metadata such as your account email, selected catalogue items, generation dates and outcomes for owner-only usage analytics after photos or previews are deleted, subject to our data retention policy.

You can delete photos in My Photos and previews in My Try-Ons. Deleting a photo does not delete its previously generated previews; delete those separately. Premium can retain photos and preview history. Trial photos and unsaved previews become unavailable after 24 hours and are removed when your try-on account next performs cleanup. Explicitly saved previews remain until deleted, subject to account retention requirements. Relevant images are shared with the AI service only to produce and check your preview.

Cookies and local storage

The site may use cookies or local browser storage for authentication sessions, preferences, favourites and returning you to your previous shopping state.

Some guest favourites and shopping progress are stored on your device. Browser settings may let you clear or restrict this storage, but doing so may remove locally saved finds or affect sign-in and other features. Signing out ends your SML session; it does not automatically delete account information or locally saved favourites.

Data sharing

Select My Look does not sell personal information. Information may be processed by service providers required to operate the site, including authentication, hosting, analytics and AI services. These providers may process information outside South Africa.

Data retention

We retain information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, subject to legal and operational requirements. Local browser information may remain on your device until you remove it or your browser clears it.

Your choices

You may sign out, stop using the service, update available profile preferences, or request correction or deletion of account information where applicable. Contact us using the email below. We may need to verify that a request relates to your account before making changes.

Children

Select My Look is not intended for children under 13.
